Happy Birthday, Lili!!!

(My sister sent me this picture as Lili was opening the gift we sent her!)

My oldest niece, Liliana, turned 6 today!  SIX?!?!  Where did those 6 years go????  It seems like it was just a couple mornings ago when I got that 4 am phone call from my mom telling me she was on the way!  I went right to the hospital and took off work that day.  It seems like we waited FOREVER for Lili to make her way into the world!  Her stubborness started out early! :)  She is such an awesome little girl and I miss her like crazy!!  They recently moved to Alabama because of the military and I don't get to see them as much as I'd like!  A couple months after being born, my brother-in-law was deployed for a year.  So, my mom and I were at my sister's house pretty much every single day to help my sis out with Lili.  So, in honor of her 6th birthday, I wanted to share 6 memories/facts about becoming an aunt for the first time!

1.  Lili - I had never changed a diaper until you!  You were my first diaper change!!  I never knew so much grossness could come out of such a small cute bundle of joy!!

2.  When we used to watch you while your mommy was in school, you had separation issues...MAJOR issues.  You would scream cry your little heart out when you realized your mommy wasn't there.  I would cry with you because I felt soooo bad for you!

3.  I was always so nervous when I would give you a bath.  Once, I was trying to get the shampoo out of your hair and the water got in your mouth.  You choked.  I panicked.  But everything worked out just fine.

4.  One of my favorite memories I have is one time me and ma-ma were watching you.  You and I sit in the rocking chair and watched tv for hours.  We shared TWO bowls of Cheerios...I'm pretty sure you had more than me!  You loved those Cheerios!!

5.  You used to come over to my house and play in my basket of scrapbook flowers.  You had your own little basket of scrapbook stuff that I gave you.  You had stickers, flowers, and paper.  I still have that basket and can't bring myself to get rid of it!

6.  The first time you met Uncle David (or Uncle Batman as you call him), you wanted HIM to hold your hand to walk to the car!  HIM and not ME?!?!  You instantly loved him and I loved that!

We've made so many memories together and I can't wait to make more!  You're my little Silly Lili.  Before you were born, I decided that is what I would call you.  Little did I know you would actually be so humorous!

Happy 6th Birthday, Lili :)

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
