Nail Polish Swap

Let me just start by saying I ♥ doing blog swaps!!  You get to meet some aMaZiNg people with great blogs and it is so much to shop for them!  Then, you also get a fun little package of goodies in the mail.  Who doesn't love getting packages in the mail?!?!  I know I do!

This nail polish swap was hosted by the sweet girls at shineonblog and hairsprayandhighheels.  Thanks ladies for hosting such a fun swap! :)

All Lacquered Up

I was paired up with Christina at Easily Entertained and she is awesome - to say the least!!  I am fairly new to blogging and I had a question about something...so I asked her.  She was so sweet and didn't make me feel like I was bugging her or anything!!  She really "dumbed it down" for me...which is EXACTLY what I need!!  I NEED a blogging mentor!! LOL  Her blog is so fun to follow and I can't wait until I actually have time to go back and stalk read some of her old posts!

She really hooked me up and got me exactly what I wanted.  I needed a gold glitter and I love this Essie one, As Gold as it Gets. I also had L'Oreal Violet Vixon on my wish list after seeing it here and she got it for me!!!  So excited to use it!  I also can't wait to use this elf polish - this will be my first time trying this brand and it looks like the perfect brown.  She also sent me a nail file (how cute is it?!?) and these new nail buffers from Revlon called Crazy Shine.  You can use them on your bare nails or over nail polish to rev up the polish shine.  I have one in my desk drawer at work...I had never heard of these...where have I been??  Here is what she sent me.

Thanks Christina!!!  Check out what I sent her here.

Nail Files and a Giveaway

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
