Beauty Time Tuesday

Recently, I found this tip on Pinterest and I just HAD to share.  This may be a little TMI but I'm ok with that....I normally have to shave my legs EVERY SINGLE day to keep them smooth.  I swear my hair grows 1/4 of an inch over night.  (ok - not that much - but you get the point)  And let's be honest, I'm lucky if I shave 3 times a week!  My apologies go out to my dear hubby for my laziness.  Sorry babe!  The ONLY person I know that shaves her legs every night is my mom.  She seriously NEVER misses a night.  Crazy, I know!!  Unfortunately, I didn't inherit that OCD gene from her.  Stacks of paper are always straight and shoes lined up - but legs are not shaven every night.  :)

I tried this trick out last Thursday night and my legs were smooth until tonight and still, they really weren't that bad.  Five Days!  FIVE!!!!  Drum Roll, please...

What you'll need....
Shave Gel
Razor
Sugar Scrub - you can make your own by mixing sugar and olive oil

I normally just use left over conditioner to shave with so I ran out and bought this Skintimate Flirty Mango Shave Gel.  It smells amazing!  I also had this Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub on hand.  By the way, I LOVE this stuff.  If you haven't tried it, you need to.  It smells like coconut and makes my skin feels silky smooth.  I also used a disposable Gillette Venus Sensitive razor.  I've never been big on the razors that you keep forever and just change the heads.  I'd rather just throw the whole thing away and start fresh with a new one.  Plus, I like to change up my razor color :)

After being in the shower for at least 3 minutes (supposedly, this softens the hair and makes it easier to shave or something), lather on the shave gel and shave.  Now here's the important part that makes all the difference...  After shaving with the shave gel, rinse and apply your sugar scrub then shave again.  Yes...shave WITH the scrub on.  You'll have to rinse your razor often when doing this.  Now rinse off the scrub and enjoy your smooth gams!!

What fun beauty tips have you tried and loved??

  1. Wow! You've convinced me! I too have to shave daily for smooth legs but in all honesty more like every other day does it actually happen.. Thanks for the tip!

  2. I'm a huge fan of the 'Tree Hut' scrubs!

I am the girl with barely any hair - but that also means that the hair on my head is crazy fine. You win some, you lose some. Boo!

But, I am going to totally give this a try! If I could get away with shaving once every two weeks (instead of weekly) it would rule!

Today I'm linking up with Tara and Vicki  for their fabulous linkup party, The Nail Files. Essie : Turquoise and Caicos Julep : Ivy Annnnd...I'm doing something a little special for my readers today - a nail polish giveaway!!  I am admittedly copying Christina over at Easily Entertained .  :) She recently did a nail polish giveaway (that I missed out on..boo) and I thought what a GREAT way to get rid of some of my overflowing collection of polishes!!! You will win 8 bottles of nail polish including brands: OPI, CHI, Ulta, Avon, 2 Glitter Pots from Julep, and an Ulta Lipgloss! I apologize for the lighting - I will try to get a better picture and upload it. All of these polishes are slightly used (maybe 2 or 3 times) except for the CHI brand and the green Ulta one - those have never been used.  The glitter pots and the lipgloss are also brand spankin' new. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Halloween Treats

For work gifts this year, I used these free printables  and these free printables  to make these cute little treats!  I had a lot of fun making them.  I dragged my poor mom and David around to so many stores looking for different colored Tic Tacs and eyeball candy.  I wanted very badly to make the Vampire Vitamins...who knew it would be so hard to find red Tic Tacs! I also made this easy Halloween Bark. What You Need:   1 Package Halloween Oreos Candy Corn 2 Packages Wilton Candy Melts in White Halloween Sprinkles - I ended up using different sprinkles than the ones in the picture...a girl has a right to change her mind, right? Pretzels - I stole these out of our Trick-or-Treat bowl because I felt like it needed something to offset all the sweetness. 1. Crumble up the Oreos.  I crushed some by hand, some in my food processor and broke some in halves and some in fourths.  Spread out on cookie sheet over wax/parchment paper.  Sprinkle candy corn

A Batman Wedding and a $9 Wedding Dress

I was on this blog today and she was talking about how women spend so much money on wedding dresses.  It reminded me of my wedding and then I realized I've never blogged about it!!!  It's already been a year and half and I still haven't even scrapbooked it!!!  Where does the time go? Ok...to the dress.  I knew exactly what I wanted.  I wanted it to be short, satin, and a "pick-up" style dress.  I looked around at David's Bridal and other stores but I just couldn't see spending more than $100 on my dress.  (I've been married before and had the big, fancy wedding - and we see how well that worked out!!)  So this time, I wanted a small wedding and didn't want to spend much.  I walked into Ross one day looking for something else and decided to walk through the dresses to look for a dress for my sis, the MOH.  It was like the clouds opened up and the angels were singing and the sun beamed down on this dress.  You can't really tell from this pic,
